Student Individual Devices

La Salle Academy is currently transitioning our Student Device Policy and Program.

Please consider the section below relevant to your child's year of enrolment.

Year 7 Enrolments from 2024

From 2024, all year 7 students will be provided with a device as part of 1:1 Device Scheme.  All Year 7 students will be provided their device in their first week of school and spend some time during their orientation learning how to use their devices appropriately and effectively.  These devices will remain the property of the school, but students will be permitted to take the devices home each evening, on the weekends and during the holidays.  Specific infromation related to this program will be forwarded to all parents/guardians of Year 7 students at the beginning of their child's enrolment.

Year 11 & 12 Students

The new 1:1 Device scheme will not be extended to Senior students.  Senior students will revert to a BYOD program where students will be able to purchase devices that are more oriented to the demans of the elective subject choices.  Purchasing a device for Year 11 & 12 will require the students to liaise with speciality subject teachers to ensure that the device has the capabilities to allow students to perform to the best of their abilities.

Students currently enrolled from 2023

The existing Bring your own Device (BYOD) policy will still be continued.  Please see the document below that highlights the specifications recommended for students in secondary school.
